In 1978, Israel and Egypt signed the Camp David Accords in a historic peace deal between the two nations who had technically been at war when Egypt answered the call to defend against the creation of the ZionistEnitity in 1948, but as tensions rise that peace may soon collapse.
What are the Camp David Accords?
Signed in 1978, the Accords were the conclusion of thirty years of war between Egypt and Israel. It came after the Yon Kipor War in 1973 which was a result of rising tensions due to Israeli occupation of the Saini and Golan Heights since the 6 Day War in 1967, which itself started when Israel launched strikes on Egyptian military planes, as well as Iraqi, Syrian and Jordanian ones too.

What did they agree to?
- Autonomy for Palestinians, although Israel continued in its illegal occupation of Gaza and the West Bank until 2005, prompting the PLO conflicts
- Mutual recognition of Israel and Egypt, as well as the establishment of diplomatic relations
- Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai
- Israeli ships can use the Suez Canal
- US financial and military aid to both countries
For his betrayal of the Palestinian people Egyptian President Sadat was kindly gifted a bullet by Egyptian Islamic Jihad.

When have they been broken?
As part of the Accords as well as later deals made in the 80s, there was an agreed upon DMZ where no Zionist or Egyptian military forces were allowed. There were also zones where only a limited number of divisions are allowed.

But recent events surrounding over the Nazi-esque genocide of the Palestinian people by the Zionist Terror entity have caused the DMZ to be violated.
Four months into the Gaza genocide, the devil spawn tyrant Netanyahu, who is deeply despised by his own people as well as most people around the world except a group of American evangelicals, said that the Israeli army must take Rafah to win the war (a year later and Israel still is yet to achieve any of its main objectives). This would however be in violation of the accords, so obviously Egypt reacted by ending the peace deals or pressuring Israel not to invade Rafah.
Egypt did not end the accords or force Israel to not invade Rafah, instead they came to an agreement with Israel who would limit their ground operations in Rafah, guarantee no forceful displacement into Egypt and the continuation of aid through Rafah. Israel proceeded to expand their operations in Rafah and limit the flow of aid through the crossing.
However, in late February of 2025, Egypt made its move. They began a military build-up in the Sinai near the Israeli border. Spotted by Israeli satellites, footage shows a significant military presence in zones that should be demilitarized or limitedly militarized. Egypt is yet to make any official statements, but many speculate as to the reason for the build-up. Some possible causes could be to prevent the forced displacement of Palestinians, or as a show of force against the Zionists flagrant disregards for international law and the accords.
The future
War is a possibility. Several of the wars between Egypt and the Zionist entity were proceeded by Egyptian military build-ups, including the afore mentioned Six Day and Yon Kipor wars. But the real questions are not if war will happen, but when and why.
Why now, why did Egypt now decide to make some sort of tangible stand against Israel. The answer may lie in Syria. In December of 2024, Syria overthrew Bashar al Assad. Shortly after, calls for Sisi to meet a similar fate began to spring up and his position was under threat. Its possible that Sisi saw his power under threat and took the popular option of confronting Israel. But this is only speculation, the world of diplomacy is far too complicated to pin exact reasons onto things. It could be that this has been planned for a while, since the Rafah incident in 2024 or maybe the Israel breaking the ceasefire.
So when will war come. We don’t know. It might not come at all and maybe some sort of diplomatic settlement will be reached. It may be triggered by a border incident where one army attacks the other. Maybe they will team up with Iran if the negotiations with the US break down. Only time will tell.
Very informative article , thanks akhi
