Escalation in South Asia: India Launches Strikes on Pakistani Territory Amid Rising Tensions
Muzaffarabad — A series of powerful explosions have rocked the Pakistani-administered region of Kashmir, with early reports pointing to a large-scale Indian military operation targeting multiple sites in Pakistan.
The first reports came from near Muzaffarabad, where residents heard loud blasts. Indian sources have claimed the strikes were aimed at “terror targets” — though this remains unconfirmed. What is certain, however, is that the conflict appears to be escalating rapidly.

Indian military statements confirmed “precision strikes” on at least nine locations across Pakistani territory, including Bahawalpur and Kotli in Azad Kashmir. One of the strikes reportedly hit a mosque, and another targeted the power grid — suggesting a broader campaign to disable infrastructure.
In a particularly chilling development, Pakistan’s military spokesperson reported rockets targeting power plants in Muzaffarabad and Bahawalpur. The Pakistani Air Force is now reportedly mobilizing, and airspace over the region has become increasingly restricted as flights are rerouted away from the conflict zone.
One of the most tragic moments so far came with confirmation that a child was killed and a man and woman seriously wounded (UPDATE; The man and woman have succumbed to their injuries)after a strike hit a madrasa affiliated with Maulana Masood Azhar in Muzaffarabad. Footage circulating online shows missile debris near civilian areas, sparking outrage and fear of further casualties.
Pakistan has vowed a “comprehensive and decisive response,” as the threat of full-scale war looms once again between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. With ballistic missiles reportedly used and widespread panic setting in across border cities, the world watches anxiously.
